CORONAVIRUS – LATEST UPDATE FROM EUROCOIN

As you will be aware, the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) across China in recent weeks has caused major disruption to industrial manufacturers across the region. The Chinese Government issued instructions that factories should extend their 2020 Lunar New Year closures to try to contain the spread of the virus. The seriousness of the situation was confirmed when the World Health Organisation (WHO) formally announced that this viral outbreak constituted a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on 30th January. The tragic loss of life amongst those infected, plus the continued rise in the number of people contracting the virus mean that this situation is set to continue in the immediate term.

Whilst our supply partner factories in China are now returning to work, the challenges confronting them remain significant. New announcements are being made without prior warning by government authorities and international airlines, restricting the movement of individuals & goods between cities around the world. The impact on global trade will be unavoidable, with delivery times on all exports from the region being particularly pressurised.

These unforeseeable and unprecedented circumstances are ‘force majeure’ and therefore outside of the reasonable control of Eurocoin. However, as you would expect, our professional team at Eurocoin are hard at work, liaising daily with our suppliers to establish revised, accurate planned delivery dates for all our open production orders. We are, additionally, communicating regularly with our international freight providers, in order that we may provide our customers with revised expected delivery dates here in Europe for any open contracts.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by these consequences of this PHEIC. We will continue to provide you with regular updates as the situation becomes clearer and we will work with your company to establish solutions to these challenges.
